Fundraising Operations Capstone

Please read the following instructions carefully. For your application to be considered, all documents, including letters of recommendation, must be received by September 11, 2020. Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis. Admitted applicants who attend a Fundraising Operations certificate information session are eligible to receive a $200 discount.


Upon successful completion of the six prerequisite courses and the capstone course offered by the Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership, participants will receive a Certificate in Fundraising Operations from the Rice University.

Discounts

The Association of Advancement Services Professionals (AASP), Apra, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) receive 15 percent fee/cost of attendance discount.

Fees for those members: $1,440

Fees for members submitting their application and who attended an information session: $1,270

Letters of Recommendation

The Fundraising Operations program requires that each applicant have one letter of recommendation emailed directly from the recommenders to the CPNL team at cpnl@rice.edu. The letter of recommendation should come from someone who knows your work professionally or understands why the Fundraising Operations capstone would be important to your intellectual and professional development. Recommenders should not be relatives.


It is your responsibility to inform your recommender of the deadline.

Refund Policy

Refund Policy

I understand that a 10 percent processing fee will be subtracted from all refunds. Due to the high demand for courses, registrations are considered final as of the dates listed by program area. No refunds will be issued after these dates and credits will not be given for future classes. No refunds will be granted for participants who miss a portion of a program. Refund requests 10 days before the deadline must be made in writing to cpnl@rice.edu. Refunds for credit card payments will be processed as credits to the accounts from which they were paid and may not appear as a credit until the following statement. Refunds for enrollments paid by check take up to four weeks to be processed and mailed by the Rice University accounting office. There is a $30 charge for any check returned for insufficient funds. If books have been issued, the cost of the books and any shipping fees will be deducted.

I acknowledge that failure to give complete and correct information can result in dismissal. I understand that to complete the Fundraising Operations capstone and earn the certificate, I will be required to: 


  • complete all six prerequisite courses within a 5 year period
  • attend all scheduled sessions for the capstone course
  • complete the practicum paper and presentation
  • prepare for each class as required by the instructors and remain engaged at all times while in class 
  • complete all payments on time

Decisions will be made in August 2020. Candidates will be notified of their status as soon as possible. For those who are accepted, full payment of the fees or a signed payment plan will be due by the first day of the capstone course to guarantee your place in the program.
